I need hypo-allergenic shampoo.

hey everyone!

i was going to post second (and final) part of my LA trip tonight... but I figured I'd draw it out a little and make it a little more suspenseful. Not that this is suspenseful at all... but yeah. Instead, I felt some music was needed. I wrote this song ("Never Never") 4 years ago, and while I don't often play it at shows anymore, somehow it's still always felt as real to me when I play it as when I wrote it. Some songs get stale, or I get sick of them, or I realize they're just plain bad... I don't know what the deal is with this one. It's not my best song, musically or lyrically, but i think the emotion I put into it was captured in the overall feel of the song and that's why it still feels the same to me. Sometimes it's really hard to accurately reflect your intended emotion in a song, it can easily get warped or lost altogether.

Well, enjoy.

I feel like sushi right now. Hamachi please.

@original fan
i knowwww, a part 3, 4, 5, etc would have been so cool, but i was lame and i squished everything but the LAST day in LA into part 1, so if i were to break up the remaining footage into multiple parts... they'd likely be pretty lame. hopefully something else happens that requires parts someday.
@jen
yeah, quite then little charmer, landon is :)
@troy
hahaha. i would love someone to secretly video tape you yelling "I own this town!" out your window :)
@ompa
if it were up to me, i'd have a new album (or at least a 4-6 song EP) by late spring. whether or not that is possible, we'll see. i'm sure it depends a lot on what happens with the contest.
@patrick

I think your current shampoo's doing fine: gives it a hazy dream-sequence look heehee

And thanks for putting up a song I hadn't seen / heard you perform before! I mean, yeah, there's the recording, but the live performances are where it's at ♥

I should go for sushi soon, too
When you're back in Austin, my treat? :)

What, we have an ompa outbreak? nooooo. Anyways, hello to Kina and the Kinaddicts. I hope you can count me in :)

And Kina, thank you for answering my E-mail about the autograph. I'm going to check my mail today and hope it's in there. Your CD's are going to be the first songs on the new iPod my wife and I just bought, so exciting ;)

As always, I enjoyed today's entry. I know why that song would stick with me:
We used to say we'd never come undone.
Can you breathe? I know I cannot now.

You said you weren't overly proud of this song's lyrics, but I thought that was a good example of a simple stanza that carries a great deal of emotional weight. Thanks again, and I shall continue to do my part with the voting and whatnot. May you offer some consolation to the fans of whatever team has the misfortune of playing the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

That would be the Packers. Then again, I'm biased.

Well, now that I actually have a blogger account, impersonating should hopefully be a tad bit more difficult.

Spring? Ah well, I'll just have to order now and wait for the release I guess.

Very sad song... very well-performed, but sad nonetheless.

I really liked that song. Will be keeping a look out for Part 2. though I may have to wait till the morning cause your night is 2 hours after my night so that could be pretty late over here.

I am sure you know by now and that you and Misa are giddy with excitement and envy. "It's so thin!" apple.com

At January 15, 2008 6:56 PM , Blogger J.C. said...

Eh the mac book air is so-so, it is thin, but apart from its size, what other benefits are there? Oh, the multi-touch trackpad, that is pretty cool, but not revolutionary. Also, it has no removable battery and no built in optical drive! Jeez..

I think its a nifty computer, don't get me wrong, but i don't quite see who there targeting? Would you be interested in one Kina? Over your blackbook?

Then apple did the stupidest thing ever, charged $20 for a update for the touch so it can get the 5 applications that the iPhone came with originally. I'm a iPhone user, and that even offends me! I mean think about it, they punish the early adopters (their most loyal customers) by charging them $20 for the apps when all new touches sold will have the apps on them for free. Whats up with that!?!?

Ok, sorry Kina, I guess I got a lil off topic.. Whoopsy :)

Well Great video today! I really love this blog, every time I read it I always leave with a smile.

The suspense for part 2 is killing me.. Ahhhhh, haha..

Ok, well I need to stop procrastinating and get to studying for my final exams.. Wish me luck!

J.C.

At January 15, 2008 9:22 PM , Anonymous Jun said...

Hmm, I sleep so many positions it's not even funny, I must be complex ;) I generally go for Foetus (maybe 50%) but also alternate between Yearner (20%), Starfish (20%), and the occasional Freefall (10%).

@jed Uuh, that must mean you're a vampire

Apple's products have the sleekness and refinement that alot of other products do not. Apple just knows how to make their devices look as sexy as an electronic device could. That's where the appeal lies, at least in my opinion. That and applecare seems to be pretty nice.

It may not have the features that a lot of other products do (even the cheap chinese knockoffs have a lot of features the touch doesn't), apple has the quality there, and the name that they've built up behind their products is very good.

As for who they're targeting; I don't know about you, but I rarely use CD's or DVD's anymore. As for the battery, in say for example my environment (college campus) I'm mostly plugged in anyways, so a removable battery isn't that big of a deal. Lastly, the complaint about the lack of USB ports (which would have eventually been brought up) the peripherals you would use (mouse perhaps?) can go via bluetooth. I'm just stating all this to say that there is a *possible* market out there.

That having been said, I currently am not using apple products with the exception of iTunes.

And I just completely hijacked this post, but I kinda had to defend the company, even though I wouldn't buy the product.

i know you probably have a long list of covers, but a cover of "blackbird" or "fake plastic trees" would make me EXPLODE!1!8@? with joy.

your video about the music video shoot was great. Can't wait for part 2. you like sushi? my favorite sushi joke:

Me: "What do you call this kind of sushi?"
My Mother-in-law: "Hamachi."
Me: "Oh, about $4.00 a piece." (ba da boom)

I just received your three CD set. Now I can say I had your original "home-burned" CD's before you won your first recording contract.
