MUSIC VIDEO!!!! ahhhhh

THIS IS IT! The video that could possibly air during the super bowl!! (Though not in it's entirety). It was SO weird for me to watch if for the first time today. I kind of forgot it was me I was watching.

Anyway-- Today I am playing a show at my High School! Exciting, yes, but let me take a moment to be completely honest with you.

I am so scared.

Yes, high schoolers can intimidate me. They might enjoy the show... or they might think I am the stupidest person ever. And once you are deemed uncool by a high school student... well jeez, there is no hope. I do have some friends there. They are amazing and supportive and I love them. I can only hope there are a few more like them out there. High school! Ahh!!

Wow. Don't get my wrong, I am really excited. I know I'll have fun with it. Maybe I'm scared because I'm playing where all the cool kids used to hang out at lunch. I would imagine all the cool kids still hang there... what if they can tell I'm not as cool as them?!

Haha. Oh life is so entertaining.

All for now,
me.

@jesse b

@j.c.
welcome back! all feels right again in blogdom.
@crystal
i'll be playing capo lunch today and the half-time show on friday! (i'm scared!)

ch, you just have to set the high schoolers in their place. You are way wiser then them now. Plus you are waaaay cooler then any cool kid in high school; I bet none of them have Youtube videos with over a 1,000 hits each.

Awesome music video. The lighting effects in the greenhouse added a very nice visual effect. It's a little different seeing you play from a bunch of different angles, lol. But you look superb and sound great!

can you vote more than once in a day? If so, I feel terrible because I only vote once a day! You should be winning by now because I will vote every time I am in front of my computer (which is whole day everyday). Oh man I need a life!

Go Kina!
Will you keep up the videos (even if they're on a less frequent basis) once you win this contest?

Kina, Capo is a scary place (the one time I gave a speech there I thought I would pass out I was so scared) but I am sure you will be fine. They will hold you in awe because you're older and more talented than them (and the "cool" kids weren't really all that cool, looking back). You are doing so amazing and I'm so impressed by you, and my mom wants to sign up on myspace and vote. We're all rooting for ya!

I wouldn't worry about the high school kids.
Every little thing she does is magic.
She'll have them under her spell in about 5 notes in. I know, I've experienced it :P

Sweet video, congrats! That was a cool effect when the greenhouse lights started 'beating' during the bum-bums.

Kina -
This is awesome, I have confidence you will win. And you deserve it.

As far as high school goes, just imagine that this performance is like a high school debate you have researched really well and that you are going up against some really uninformed people and....oh wait, nevermind. Knock 'em dead!

At January 24, 2008 9:45 AM , Blogger ompa said...

I'm the sure high-schoolers will not be much of a problem for you. People will always have different opinions, and let's face it, it's almost impossible to please everyone. But considering the following you have now, I think you can be confident that a large portion of the high schoolers will be rather impressed with you, which is an impressive enough feat in itself.

That music video was awesome! I Can't wait to see it on a bigger screen, in high-def. Anyone know if I might get the superbowl via over-the-air HDTV?

Yo Kina!!

I'm in Montreal,Canada right now!

Wow...never felt so tired like this before..it took me in total about 22 hours of flight to get here from Malaysia!

I love the music video!! :D
I feel so excited after watching the video, great video!!

Ok,I have to go find something to eat..I'm hungry!!

Owh, and remember..you're cool..

I agree, the video is really great! Too bad I won't be able to get the big surprise during the Superbowl (while they do broadcast it over here they don't show the commercials or in-between stuff).

Anyways, as an avid Digg users you surely read about last.fm. Did you think about getting your music on there (it's totally free for independend artists and you get money based on how many people listen to you).

Wauw! Thats one awesome musicvideo!
Well done kina and folks who put it together! _O_

And the lighthouse! alltogether great! Congrats.

So how does it feel to be on the 'white screen'? Unreal aye?

So I guess we can surmise Kina was not one of the "cool" kids. I'm pleasantly surprised! So what happens to those kids anyway? Do they become "cool" adults?

Hey sweety!
I'm working as fast as I can on the video. I just sent you another mail with (I think) a better version. That's the one I'll use with the video. Hope you like this one too.

For the complete fans of yours, I uploaded my version of your song on my myspace page. I didn't quite know where else to put it until I get the video done for Youtube (which proves more difficult than expected).

haha, Oh wow, Kina you made my day today. I went into first period and my friend said.."are you staying for lunch? Kina's playing"

AND I WENT CRAZY EXCITED! I dont have a 6th and I usually leave, but today I STAYED!!!! ahhh it was fun :) haha, and i'm definitely going to the game tomorrow and wearing my shirt!

And you're right.. the mall is the most intimidating place during lunch... but haha we made our own little kina fan club up front :)
and people came up to you and told you how inspirational you were! SO AWESOME!!! :)
ahh, and then the strings... haha

Definitely made my day. :) yay!

and i was going to say hello today but you looked pretty preoccupied

and don't worry how couldn't you be cool being the digg girl

GNU fan, the "cool kids" end up working for the "nerds". Thankfully, I've been classified as a nerd since, well, as soon as classifications started emerging within the social hierarchy of little kids.

As for the commercial, are we talking about a commercial during halftime? Or just one of the random commercial breaks during the superbowl?

awesome video...

i am super slow or have A.D.D. but i think watching THIS music video made me realize your song "message from the heart" was basically a heart SINGING from the words coming from a "heart"

i am so so so clueless sometimes, and when i listened to the whole song with this new perspective, the song became so new to me and it was an awesome experience... why am i so retarded hahaha

it's sorta like when NAS made that song "i gave you power" and the words were from the point of view of a gun. but yours is more peaceful because ur song is from the point of view of a heart and peace reigns and you will therefore REIGN DURING SUPERBOWL!!!

hahaha =D

blessings,
miko

Nice Kina, very nice!

The video was really amazing! Just the way i thought it would be, it definitely has that distinctive Kina style that we have all grow and love so dearly.

Well from reading some earlier comments it seems like the high school show went great. I knew it would! I mean it might not be to their taste, but there is no denying that you have a great talent.

Well, I cant wait to see what happens with the contest, but no matter what the outcome, you will always be a winner! I'm sure you know that though... :)

J.C.

P.S. I have been watching your previous videos, the snakes sorta creep me out... I was cringing at the thought of you getting bitten.. I am sure there nice pets, I'm just more of a dog person though..

At January 24, 2008 5:41 PM , Blogger ompa said...

J.C., look at it this way. A Corn Snake probably isn't going to do a whole lot of damage, even if it did bite you. The thing is so small anyways, even if it latched on to your finger, it couldn't bite it off.

I'm actually much more scared of dogs than I am of corn snakes.

I must admit I had pretty high expectations for the video, and I'm sorry to say...it was even better than I hoped for!!! (fakeout over). Everyone involved did an outstanding job.

You know I have to ask this - what was the resolution of the video they gave you? Just curious, as it did look really good for YouTube. Of course, I'm sure I'll get to see it in HD in a little over a week.

@ompa & anyone else who cares:
You should be able to get it over-the-air on Fox. I know I'll be recording the OTA signal with my HD USB stick. I'm guessing the Doritos thing will be on somewhere around the national anthem or slightly before, since a full minute can be hard to come by once the game starts.

how'd your Ground Zero show go?
Wish I was there to see it, but if it was even half the show that you normally crank out, you must have brought the house down :)
