hey! thank you so much for helping spread the word! i've see so much of your brother nowadays, but no you!! hope you're well!
@benfromcanada
as much as i wish i could continue posting EVERY DAY, i think for health reasons i might have to restrict myself to 1 or 2 a week, lest month of no sleep become a year of no sleep, and then i die. maybe there can be a set day every week that i can post and update everyone on what's gone on. what do you guys think about that? i really love the blog and the community here and sharing music with you all, but I don't want to overcommit and let you down later.
@gene parmesan

Awww, Chris and Ryan are so sweet. You probably should have gotten a private detective.

I knew that guy (Ryan) looked familiar. He kinda let his hair go since I met him back in August. Say "Hi" to him for me, Kina :P

Have fun today at your show today

Oh man, you're lucky that your car didn't get stolen. I think that's a good sign. Maybe your luck will carry through to Sunday :) Not that you need luck.

Oh No...that was not good what happened with your Keys...good thing now one stole the car. I liked the song you played, though at a couple points is was a little hard to hear your singing...non the less it was still nice.

oh, that was brilliant... the getting your alma maters and all those myspacers behind you... not so much the keys thing! but it's happened to me, and with much less going on than you've had. keep it up, it's so so close!

once upon a time, kina won a contest and 90 million people embraced her......(wakes up) oh but what if she lost by 1 vote?! this cannot be!

moral of the story: make it happen. every vote counts. weve got about 4 days left, vote some more, give it a little more effort down the stretch and get more people to vote because you dont get another opportunity, this is it.

This is SO not a good thing for your mother to hear. It's a miracle that in that neighborhood your car was still there. You're grounded.

At January 25, 2008 2:31 PM , Blogger ompa said...

The ability of mothers to ground goes past the age of 21? Crap. And here I thought I was soon to be free.

Eh, oh well, as long as I have my laptop and wifi *hugs laptop*.

As per usual, lovely song! And a few more days of voting... Looks like I'll actually have to pay attention to at least part of the superbowl this year.

I'm still bitter the Packers lost.

At January 25, 2008 2:38 PM , Anonymous r said...

Can we at least postpone the grounding till the contest is over? Besides, pretty soon she'll have a private driver to take her everywhere and ten HE'LL be responsible for the keys :)

Hey Travis - yes the hair is a bit out of control haha. Hope things are good up in Austin.

groundage=joke. Kina really never does anything worthy of punitive action. : )

At January 25, 2008 2:56 PM , Anonymous Gene Parmesan said...

You guy's misunderstood what Mama G said. She meant "You're grounded", as in "Even though you've had all this success, you've still got your feet on the ground."

haha, don't feel dumb about the car keys, i've done that. but i can top that, i've locked my keys inside my car whilst the engine was running.

me and rose are getting along nicely =)

please don't ever stop doing what you do. never ever, ever never, never. boop!

Wow, that was a lot of people! I would have such stage fright if I had to go out and confront all of them... It looked like a blast though!

About the keys, it can happen to any one.. Your not a "stupid human being" your just a preoccupied human being.. Theres a difference.. :)

I cant believe I will only get to see you only one or two days a week after the contest. How do you expect me to keep my Kina craving at bay? Well if its for healths sake I guess we must all make some sacrifices.. :/ I'm still going to miss you though.. :)

Ehh well, all good things must come to an end..

J.C.

after seeing all three videos, kina's is by far the best imo... hands down.

@ ernie: to be perfectly fair, you must consider the views that landon got before he put up the corrected-sound version as well which were 2,182 making a total of 2,641... a respectable number.

I can see the eBay item now:

Kina Grannis' car.
Quantity: 1 available.
Bid quickly, she's still looking for her keys!

And BTW, Blindly is currently on the iPod playlist I listen to on my way to work, so it was nice to see & hear you play it. :)

sarcasm + the internet = :(

besides, if you actually grounded your daughter through a blog, we'd have much bigger problems on our hands.

unfortunately (or fortunately...?) i have to make gratuitous use of smileys to indicate my sarcasm. too bad there isn't a sarcastic font, i mean i can't write everything in italics now can i? or can i...

hey kina -- if you're still taking requests, i'd like to suggest one of my favorites of yours: 'goodnight.' considering the time that you post these songs, it would be appropriate :) thaaaanks!

i'm kind of intrigued by gene parmesan's secret identity actually. two things:
1) is a fan of arrested development obviously.
2) is female.

cover charge and dinner at the mint to see kina = $50

CD 3 pack and an additional CD of sincerely me = $34

Seeing kina lose her keys only to find it stuck to her car = priceless

We heart kina!

Here's a link to a higher quality...slightly different version of Kina's music video from the red forums...

Cool to see everything turned out yesterday for you Kina. I think you deserve a break from the daily blog. It would be awesome if you could at least blog once a week though.

@Josh
Thanks for the link! I agree with j.c. that version is much better. Not just the quality but the content as well.

I somehow stumbled upon your site and thought, "Wow, this sounds amazing and oddly familiar." Then I realized that I saw you play with Reserved 16 at the Knitting Factory two years or so ago. It always surprises me how small the internet makes the world. Hopefully you can get another show or two in before this super bowl thing makes you uber famous. It would be nice to get the chance to see you live in a comfortable setting again before you start lining up arena gigs.

yo mathew arenas are too small. she needs like stadiums. u know the ones that fit like over a 100 thousand people.
something like this: http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_pictures/north_america/mexico/central_mexico/mexico_city_azteca.shtml
or this http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_pictures/asia/malaysia/kuala_lumpur_jalil.shtml
both have a capacity of over 114K.

bunch of highschool kids clapping to your song

gene parmesan is definitely a guy. And USC is built sort of like a fortress at night, so PSX isn't really a hotbed of crime. Also, how did I know the car was in PSX?

i wrote this comment on youtube but i just wanted to reiterate and say i absolutely love the "bum bum bum" part with the whole "everytime you..." lines.

it reminds me of the joy of Christmas songs =0)

or it gives me the joy that Christmas songs do?

you give me the joy that Christ does???

haha nevermind hahahaha

miko!

you will win the whole shebang!!!
i thought it was spelled shabang!

i just wonder if u get to meet any of the superbowl players, like tom brady.

At January 26, 2008 3:46 AM , Anonymous asdf said...

apparently it will be the first thing played after the first quarter!
So there's a chance, we get a closeup of the winner's face before the commercial brake?
To do the geek part: i have to overclock my computer to watch the hq video from the red31 forum without frameskips :) (it's an oooold one). But it looks great ;)

I mean, the video looks great (in hq) not my computer :).
