today i played at half-time at my high school's basket ball game! SO fun!! of course, i had to play the akon cover.
the sad thing is, since for the past month and a half i've been sitting in front of a computer all day, my arms and back are actually SORE from playing two shows yesterday!! haha.

@gene

HA!! First comment!... (of course I did cheat a little because I just saw Kina put up the post 30 seconds ago)
dear kina,
i can't believe you're able to respond to so many comments. that's one of the many things that make you so special. such a personable... person =)
i love both vids. it's the song that makes it so super-dee-duper awesome!
thank you for the smiles you've given me the past few weeks.
boop again!
later days,
jro AND rose

i like the director's cut...
i like the way both videos show you going to an empty greenhouse to play for ferns and shrubs and mysteriously animated lamps, very Miyazaki, "Princess Mononoke"-like...
i also like how you're shown walking to the building. i guess you really did lose your car last night!?!?
;-)
As a photographers point of view I really really like the directors cut more over the first 'official?' cut.
As me, I like the directors cut also better! hahaha
And you have the luck to have such nice buildings which you can get on top, we dont. But then I only would take cliché pictures right?
Oh btw kina, please check out my website, thought it's in Dutch i hope you like my pictures.
maaaaarrrrrryyyyyyy meeeeeeeeee!
I ♥ it!
Doritos is flying ya'll to Phoenix?
That's cool! Doing any shows while you're there?
And don't forget to fit in some Austin shows before you forget about us back here :)
Oh yeah, if you ask someone to visit your website it's quit obvious you leave the address :p

OOO!!! This version is awesome as well!!! At first I like the beginning of the first one more... but then I liked the "bum bum bum bum" part of this one, and I love the ending!!!! It's sooo cute! EEEK!!! 1 more day of voting!!!!
I think this is the first and maybe only time i'm ever going to watch the Superbowl... haha
kina
You've mentioned hummingbirds, bugs, snakes, dogs, and even teeny bears in your blog. but not crows. can you tell us about crows?
Hey Kina,
I found out about your competition on facebook, and I have been voting for you ever since! Good luck... I really like your song; it grows on me every time I hear it.
Brian Fox (fellow USC songwriter)
So these last few days I've decided to post videos on facebook for you to get as many last votes from random people as you can. Today I was doing laundry in the dorms and I heard Landon's Waitin' video and I was like oh no! So I went and saw someone on my floor playing it and I was like "don't vote for him because the girl is way cooler and stuff". And the cool thing was he's like I already voted for her. Apparently he saw all the random posts on facebook and decided to vote for you. I'm so excited that my publicity efforts are working :P (Although the truth is I think you are going to win, everything's pointing to you: Google searches, facebook group, youtube views, digg stuff, and seriously the best artist btwn the three)
<3 Nina
The directors cut rocks my socks! And I'm not even wearing any. It seems to have more flow cut with mid-line transitions and warmer colors.
For both versions, it's different watching these quick-cut videos. We're so used to watching your one-shot blogs where you simply captivate us with your voice and your expression. With the handheld shot style, we can't quite focus on your expressions, but we do get glowing lights and a swank greenhouse!
Be well!
ive heard a couple people talking about football and i decided to give everyone a REAL intro to football 101. DO NOT READ FURTHUR IF YOU ARE AFRAID OF THE TRUTH..
1. the colts and patriots dominate the headlines and the game.
-the sports media has continued to feed and brainwash everyone by hyping up both these teams and its rivalry.
-they are no doubt juggernaught teams, but they show no passion or backbone. youll never be surprised by what they do because its always the same gameplan, the same scheme, all too methodical. which is why the good portion of the media insists even though they win they are boring to watch and stays away from hyping them up even more since the bias side takes care of that very well. (there are always good and bad forces in everything)
-the ownage of these teams in the game is apparent by the simple fact that out of the past 6 superbowls, the new england patriots have won 3 and the colts have won 1.(to be continued)....
2. nothing escapes corruption unless it is portrayed as a symbol or hidden from everyone, like a secret society of good people would be. sports is available to everyone thus is doesnt escape corruption. there are so many ways to corrupt the game.
-let me begin by saying, i know others sports are corrupted. for the faint of heart (those who are skeptical) i can offer some relief by news that has been released for everyone to know, which is solid evidence. in basketball, a referee named tim donahue was caught fixing games for the mafia and other such mobsters. in tennis some of the same for a couple russian players to win. paying people off to get the results is how fixing usually works.
-mind you basketball is a faster paced game and although they do corrupt it, football is much easier for high people to influence the rehearsed outcome. the reason why i said to be continued for the 3rd bullet of #1 is because it ties into this corruption which we will furthur investigate in #3.....
this next section, you may not take my word for it, im only someone who was well-connected in high places and quit because of the aforementioned evil in daily agendas. for the faint of heart again, just look at the evidence like the infamous SPYGATE(patriots videotaping other teams for an advantage to win games). the corruption goes further back but because the patriots are one of the teams that dominate the attention it is time to expose them.
3. everything is intertwined in this counterfeiting. because even our corrupt government agencies like the nsa, cia, and fbi involve themselves in it. no other teams have a chance in the playoffs when (its the most opportunute time for people to bet, gamble, and there is alot at stake and alot to gain for everyone) everything is on the line.
-a travesty for people to take advantage of a tragedy like 9/11 to (going back to bullet 1 of #1: feed and feed you with something via the media) only about 4 months after the tragedy a star is born by the name of tom brady and leading the PATRIOTS to a superbowl. the media absolutely goes berserk and sends out all types of patriotic messages with the victory: united we stand,we are patriotic, this is americas team (i thought the cowboys were americas team! because that is indeed what the cowboys are called) and what not. it riled up the country in a moment of turmoil because this is exactly what we planned to do. it did not hurt either that brady represented the pretty all american boy.
-but lets go back to that faithful moment the patriots surged to the first of several titles. they beat the oakland raiders in the afc championship game 16-13, after the hugely controversial tuck rule call. what happened was charles woodsen of the raiders rushed brady to force a fumble and the raiders recovered, GAME OVER. but hey weve got people on our side that called it an incomplete pass. end result: games goes to overtime, adam vinitieri kicks the game winning field goal
-first superbowl victory, is it plausible? how can a team that (from that moment in time) came from nowhere beat "the greatest show on turf". well they did, and convincingly. a rams teams that dominated all facets of the game and dominated every team, played their worst game ever, which should have had many shaking their heads turn into Patriotic banter. NO, at this point, who would question a patriotic moment, a patriotic victory. go patriots!
-the rest is history folks. you want to know why the afc title game this year wasnt the colts against the patriots? to calm the conspiracy theorists who were clawing away like kids in a candy store. if that was the game this year, they may have grinned in delight knowing that aha! we knew this would happen. but the powers that be gave them a curve ball and they now start to question themselves. hmmmm, the patriots really did "WIN" 3 titles already and they are a perfect 18-0, i dont think theyll loose against the giants...well they are right and they are right. to further strengthen the patriots case in the history books here they are acheiving what no other team has accomplished. that is why they will win on february 5. they will acheive perfection with a 19-0 record. there will be no doubt they are "one of the best".
only the crazies who are actually onto something will keep kicking the tires to expose the patriots for what they are. big cheaters, big frauds.
Don't worry about it Kina. ;)
If anyone is placing bets. My suggestion would be New England.
yo yo!
kina! only two more days left! AHHHH!
not just for voting but two days left before you hit superstardom!
seriously!
like i was just thinking about it recently, like dude! you couldve entered any OTHER contest, BUT THE CONTEST YOU DID ENTER IS THE JACKPOT! the contest of all contests!
there is no other more watched program than the superbowl... it's the one time the whole country, the whole world is glued to their tv.
like you couldve entered some contest where they place your commercial for some american idol finale, BUT THE SUPERBOWL IS THE GRANDDADDY!
and like you're gonna win for real...
is this all sinking in yet??? WOW KINA!! you're gonna win adn will be watched by 90,000,000 peeople! oh my gosh... AHHHHH
hahaha
WOW !!!
miko your friend i think hahaha
My vote is def. on the director's cut.
ok i didn't read any of that conspiracy theory, but i'm sure it was entertaining nonetheless.
Noo Kina, I did not mean it was ENDING in the sense that every thing will just go poof after the contest, I was more thinking along the lines that this amazing daily routine we all have is going to have to come to a stop eventually.
Lets face it, after the contest you are going to be really busy with recording albums, writing songs, doing shows, etc... As sad as it may be, I highly doubt that you will have time to make a daily video blog. So I support your decision to cut it down to 1 or 2 post a week. You gotta have your priorities strait, taking care of your self & your career should be at the top of the list, not entertaining us, even as fun as it may be..
Any ways, I am sure we will still get to see you on TV and hear you on the radio, so its not all bad..
Don't worry about people forgetting about you, I can assure you that will never happen.. I mean c'mon, your Kina, who could ever forget about you?!?
J.C.
@jc i agree. we'll all soon have to start paying more attention to work or school again without the happy distraction of checking kina's websites for new posts and entertaining comments. it has become quite an addiction, i must say.
I think I liked this one better...though the only thing really different I noticed was the Heart at the end...which I really liked...
Glad to hear you are getting some sleep...sleep is always good!
Jen
Dear Kina,
Well, only a few more days to go now - we've been voting every day and watching your videos with great interest. I loved the director's cut -- thanks for sharing it with everyone. You're very talented and sweet girl, and we hope for the best for you.
Margaret, Phil, Andy, and Sarah
@anonymous
i know who you are haha...if you did work in high places im sure you will find out who i am as well.
my only criticism is that you could have delivered the message with more of a slam dunk if you checked the structure and grammer.
i also think if you are going to choose to out people you should post somewhere theres a bigger audience. thats not to say kina grannis' blog doesnt get a big audience but not as big as other places. or did you think nobody would notice and find you here. haha anyways, dont believe him, he is crazy.
too many anonymous people o_O
who's talking to who? lol
