cool news! i just heard from doritos that my music video for "message from your heart" is on its way and that i'll be allowed to share it with all of you on my site! i still haven't seen the finished product so i am sooo excited.
i can't believe there are only 5 days left of voting. it feels like this contest is my life now. what will happen afterwards? what will my purpose be??
today it was very sad looking in los angeles. cloudy, drippy, coldish. yes, it could be worse, it could be ACTUAL weather conditions.... but for southern california it's a little :( especially when i REALLY wanted to go frolic outside today. shame.

Oh wow, I'm surprised they are going to let you show the music video before the Superbowl. I can't wait to see it!

Not gonna lie, the Digg reference made me smile. And do you seriously burn each CD individually on your laptop? That seems... painful with the amounts that you have to burn.

You can't really compare Digg to TV Guide. There isn't a entire community behind TV Guide deciding what is to be printed. I think in all fairness the most professional way for a news magazine or news station is to mention everyone. Sure the Fox News LA didn't mention everyone.. but I doubt TV Guide is written in Texas and written just for Texans. Well, at least no one reads TV Guide since the 90s.

@eric in nh...just to clarify the camera used is a red one. The 31 is in reference to the serial number of the camera. This is how red one users refer to their red cameras...by it's serial numbers. The reason some look different from others is because the whole system is modular allowing for many possible configurations for the user to set up based on their needs. Sorry, just wanted to give credit to one fine piece of equipment. :)
landon's video is ok...but not quite epic, imho. i think kina's is gonna rock the socks off everybody.
landon's is alright, but the sound is out of sync hehe. can't wait to see yours kina! hope they feature it/you on youtube soon.
i like the direction landon's director took the video... the different ways people are "waitin". it fleshes it out beyond a story about a high school crush. i really liked the old fashioned mike they used... cool touch. maybe they should have ended it with him leaving with someone he was "waitin" for. anyway, can't wait to see what they did with kina's song. i heard there's a lot of special effects with giant bugs emerging from the plants in the greenhouse... oh wait, i guess that was a different video...my mistake.
hate to go off topic, but I have to ask.... is there a story behind the name "furry poop"? *cringes*

well whatever the 'scoop' is, i'm sure it's craptastic.
I guess normally, a news outlet should feature everyone concerned, but sometimes local media plugs the homeboy/girl to generate support. For example, I read that Gina Cutillo was featured on her local news, Nivla was on a NY morning show, Landon was in the paper in Tennessee where he goes to school, and I'm sure some of the other musicians employed local news of some sort. Kina on LA TV and in the local paper was just that type of coverage. The widespread buzz about her digg song was primarily about the song, then her clever marketing, and lastly, the contest.
(I'm not sure why I wrote all this. It's not like anyone here is disputing any of these points.)

Right. I kind of surmised that from the pictures but wasn't 100% sure. It's crazy that there are companies out there whose business model is to rent these things to companies. They must be both:
A) Seriously awesome and
B) Really tough to come by!
I've only heard amazing things about those cameras (and that they're pretty cheap). <3 Oakley. <3 Red. <3 Great Design!

At the shoot, I spoke with the guy that owns the camera. It is awesome. The imported video size in full would fill four 30" monitors. He said the cost is $50,000 per camera, which is dirt cheap compared to the current standard in the industry for HD cameras of cinema quality, which Red1 is. They are in the hundreds of thousands.
By the way, he told me that he had just returned from filming Daughtry's video with his camera.
